Author Description Antonio Buero Vallejo (Guadalajara, 29 de septiembre de 1916-Madrid, 29 de abril de 2000) fue un dramaturgo español, asociado al movimiento Generación del 36 y considerado el dramaturgo español más importante de la Guerra Civil Española. Durante su carrera obtuvo tres Premios Nacionales de Teatro (en 1957, 1958 y 1959), un Premio Nacional de Teatro por toda su trayectoria en 1980, el Premio Nacional de Literatura en 1996 y el Premio Miguel de Cervantes, máximo galardón literario de España, en 1986. Desde 1971 hasta su muerte fue miembro de la Real Academia Española. ---------- Antonio Buero Vallejo (September 29, 1916 – April 29, 2000) was a Spanish playwright associated with the Generation of '36 movement and considered the most important Spanish dramatist of the Spanish Civil War. During his career he won three National Theatre Prizes (in 1957, 1958 and 1959), a National Theatre Prize for all his career in 1980, the National Literature Prize in 1996, and the Miguel de Cervantes Prize, Spain's highest literary honour, in 1986. From 1971 until his death he was a member of the Real Academia Española.
